Countering the two worst American killers

Heart disease is the number one killer of Americans and is at a point beyond the control of everyone concerned and with diabetes and high cholesterol coupled into it the health of our nation is at a very crucial crossroad.

The interesting part of the “TLC Diet Program” is its simplicity and flexibility which allows us to eat anything but within the chart provided and if we tread away from the path to come back to it with the required adjustments in the diet and exercise program.

Saturated fat is one food item that TLC, would like us to keep off which means less of full dairy products and fatty meats, portions of margarine and packaged foods because they are high in calories.

The foods with high caloric values have to be avoided and some items with high cholesterol to be avoided too but an intake of 200 mg per day is advised.

Soluble fibers are highly recommended with at least 10 to 25 grams per day or in the alternative a minimum of 5 to 10 grams per day which provides our digestive tract a very good workout and especially the colon which would undergo rejuvenation after they pass through.

Our perennial problem has been that we are unable to follow a healthy routine in what we eat and how we would exercise because though we are fully aware of the consequences of haphazard eating habits we continue with it in our own callous way with no concern for our health and that of our loved ones. This diet program is amazing but sometimes we need something else, that's why I invite you to read CLA Safflower Oil 2018 Review.

To a healthier lifestyle

Cereals, whole grain meals, oats, fruits, beans and other fruits and vegetables are highly recommended and the best is that there are no specific restrictions but the program has to be adhered to so that the body is tuned to what it would receive.

Omega-3 fatty acids are now known to be good for the heart hence meals containing fish on two days of the week is also on the agenda which would keep the system sustained on all fronts.

The exercise regime suggested could be anything as long as it would be a brisk 30 minutes preferably every day which could extend to gardening, walking, tennis, biking etc.

It is the very easy guidelines to the “TLC Diet Program” that would catch the eye of anyone and follow it is not much of an effort on our part because of its flexibility.

Like any diet program even the “TLC Diet Program” is not tailor-made to suit one individual hence it would be prudent on our part to obtain some medical advice based on our health situation before we embark on any such programs.

Some of the food which would be suggested may not be good for our health hence a doctor’s opinion would be in our best interests.
